Ever since she could hold a crayon and smash a ball of Play-Doh into a semi-recognizable sculpture, Cassie has used art as a way to analyze and understand the world around her. Her early childhood & summer vacations from primary school consisted of many drawings, coloring sheets, and hand-piped frosted cupcakes based on the lessons and experiences she gained by diligently watching her grandmother bake & decorate birthday, graduation & wedding cakes. An eye for aesthetics and design, along with gratitude for the honor of learning from an experienced teacher, was engrained in Cassie through this.
Cassie continued capturing life around her and expressing her reactions to it through studio arts and design throughout high school. She then studied at Miami University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Emerging Technology in Business & Design, along with minors in Studio Arts and Journalism. She is trained with experience in observational drawing, figure painting, app & website design, marketing campaigns, photo & video editing, coding, and more.
Following graduation, life took its course and led Cassie to a small town she now calls home. She teaches art full time to 7-12th graders at the local high school. Her mission is to show her students that it is okay & admirable to look, think, & be different from everyone else they know. Cassie’s muses include her family (especially her baby niece), pets, plants, & community. She connects deeply with music, and connects the expressions of sound & lyric with her own artistic expressions.
